    This is really a fantastic post and if there was a post of the year nomination on this board it would certainly get my vote.

    Not without seeing how the season the rest of the season worked out. If you would've told me that we got the reigning AL Cy Young winner in early July and had a 5.5 game lead in the wildcard heading into the final month and it came down to one game I would be rather nervous/angry. Which I am.

    Nervous and thinking they are going to lose and the Mets will win. Like bklyn I'm pessimistic about this team, they've let me down too many times before.

    One flyball is all we needed for a tie and Hardy failed. Hart then failed to get a hit that would've at least tied it. He's been brutal. A .300 OBP? Are you kidding me? And as I type this Torres gives up a two run homer to Fukudome. Thanks Torres. You've sucked lately too.

    That's what confuses me too. Worst that happens (99% of the time) is he loops one into the outfield. There's really no risk in just throwing him strikes.

    Well Grace played for the Cubs and Lewin went to Northwestern and was with the Cubs in 1997. But yeah, they're horrible.
