A couple innings ago, BA was dicussing why Spurling was on the bereavement list. I missed every word of it because my lady friend was whining about her job or something. Can anybody fill me in on the Spurling discussion?

Spurling's kid had an accident in the swimming pool but will make a full recovery.

I did not hear the conversation, but I read that Spurling's one-year-old child nearly drowned. I don't know anything else about it.
