Let's Not Forget Larry Doby

With all the attention paid to Jackie Robinson on the 61st anniversary of breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball, I'd like also pay tribute to the overlooked Larry Doby, who was the first black player in the American League, arriving in Cleveland less than three months after Robinson debuted in Brooklyn. Doby suffered the same injustices and indignities as Robinson but is an afterthought as far as media coverage and support for his role in integrating baseball. Through it all he also forged a Hall of Fame career.

Well, it ain't much, but it's all I got; so here's to you, Larry Doby.

Yeah I feel Larry Doby often gets overlooked. Sure he wasn't the first, but the first in the other league and I'm sure he still had all the same crap to face that Jackie did. Well done Pedro in bringing him up. Heres to Larry!
