By all accounts, SD is in fire-sale mode. A bad team doesn't need an aging, high priced closer. Is he better than his numbers indicate? Maybe a change of scenery, pitching for a team in games that matter? I don't know what his contract looks like, but maybe you can get him for very littel, even have SD pay for part of his salary. If it works, the 8th inning WHOAA SOLVD with Torres, and Hoffman closes.

Hoffman looks like he is done this year. I would just as well take my chances with Gagne if worse came to worse.
