Hey, that's why it was so smart to give away that first out.

Just idiotic. You have little to no offense to being with. Why are you giving away outs?

I've given up. Sacrifice bunting is stupid about 70% of the time. I'm convinced that managers only do it to keep the purists off their backs, because there's no way they think it's smart strategy to be constantly giving away outs late in games.

It's just so self-defeating, really.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy - we have to "get this run in". Then they intentionally do the thing that makes scoring runs really, really difficult - make outs.

Gotta pitch carefully to Belliard. There's a 1 in 10 chance he'll get a hit.

Yeah, I'm late...but that was a terrific barb.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Thank goodness Mench is our cleanup hitter.

No kidding. I'm so glad he took care of business there. God knows Lee never could take care of those runners.

By the way, with some of the crap I've seen pass for strikes tonight, how in the name of Steve Woodard did Doug Davis walk four guys?

They'd rather walk the runner into scoring position and face Jenks than pitch to Bilbo Hall.

I'm just glad we picked up a solid veteran bat at third base...the kind of guy who would never swing at a pitch that could hit a left-handed hitter in the back of the leg.

The way this ump is, that would have been a strike. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

You'd think they'd swing at the earlier, closer pitches knowing the zone has been wide all night.

Our offense is really, really bad folks.

We should hit Billy 4th and Mench 5th just in case protection in the order actually exists.

I always get nervous with these back-to-back Matt Wise innings. For some reason, they seem to put us behind. Hope I didn't jinx us here.
