Where to recycle old computer parts?

I've let my out-of-date computer equipment grow to the point where I think it's spawning new parts on its own. What places will take my stuff for free? I live in Waukesha. Any help would be appreciated.

Doesn't Waukesha County have a recycling program? My stuff is accumulating as well.

Awhile back, I read that Best Buy is going to start doing this for free. Not sure if they have started that program yet, but it might be worth looking into.

The Department of Corrections will take your old stuff, but they charge $10 for CRT monitors. They send it to a prison and teach inmates how to fix it up and then sell/give it to the poor. Link to program details and drop off sites.

 

However, I still prefer the wallpaper method for reusing old hardware.

Earlier this year MillerCoors and Goodwill partnered up to do a mass collection of old computer equipment. I'd assume it wasn't a one-time event.

Today was my turn. Two towers, two keyboards, Win95 OS disk, handfulls of 5.25" floppies from 20+ years ago, etc, etc. Needed a hammer to take care of another hard drive, but the guy there didn't have one. He said not to worry anyhow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
