Aubrey Huff to replace Corey Hart

That is not a bad idea, and pretty much what I want the Brewers to do. My thought was more dealing Hart and Hardy for a SP, and then trying to get Jermaine Dye from the White Sox for prospects.

Huff hasn't played in the OF since 2006.

The reason he would only require a borderline prospect is because a 1B who has a .751 OPS isn't very valuable.

If I was convinced he could play RF well enough, it would seem reasonable. I would imagine Gamel would be a better RF without ever having played the position.

I don't see Huff as an upgrade over Hart, as his defense would be weak at best, horrible at worst.

But the point is that you'd be free to trade Hart for pitching upgrades, as mentioned in the first post of the thread.

What about Luke Scott instead? Can he play OF? Could we convince Jack Z. to take on Hart? Not sure what Seattle has in the OF.

I don't see Hart bringing an ace type, and with Bush and Parra back, a mid-tier guy probably is not much of an upgrade. Also, Huff may well make too much to offer him arby, so draft picks are no sure thing.

I liked the idea but I don't believe a deal can be made.

Huff is owed 8M this year and his contract is up as well. So, if we trade for Huff then what do we do in 2010? Try and re-sign him or let him go and replace with another RF? Huff is also 32 yrs old versus Corey who is 27.

Plus, we would have to make sure that Atlanta would take Hart for Vazquez which I don't know if him alone will net Javier. Then you have to think about the Braves and what they will do. They just netted Ryan Church in a deal so he can play RF. Would they keep Church or try and trade him (which no one would want him to begin with).

A lot of things to consider for this deal to be made.
