Carlos Zambrano

OK, maybe I'm crazy, but does anyone else think there could be a chance the Brewers could pry Zambrano from the Cubs?

Yes, I know he's not quite as good as he used to be. Yes, I know he's owed a lot of money yet. Yes, I know he's kind of a head case. But he's only 28, is extremely dominant when he's "on", and he would instantly be the first or second best starter on our team. There seem to be strong indications the Cubs will look to move him this off-season, and it may not take much to get him because of his contract. Is there any chance the Brewers could get the Cubs to trade him, even though they're in the same division?

I doubt it. What I could see those is CZ being dealt somewhere and falling out of favor there and blowing up too majorly, leading for him to be sold low by that team, to where we might come shwooping in either mid-season or after next season.

You are crazy Invader3K. Why should the Brewers help the Cubs get out from under a bad contract? You think it's any better of a contract if he's a Brewer? I think not. He's got talent but you said it yourself, he's a head case. Who needs that for $75 million over the next 4 years?

Besides, if they were dumb enough to do it, it would free the Cubs up to upgrade elsewhere. I certainly wouldn't do it.
