They overpaid IMO. Not by a lot though. They are gambling they get the 08 version and not the 09 one. My guess is he'll never be the guy he was in 08 though. At least now they can put Scotty Pods at DH.

I really like the signing given that I value his defense, arm, and potential power over Gerut, who seemingly disappeared from the big leagues for about 5 years. Then again, Ankiel did as well, but his was due to the position switch
