So can anyone explain how Counsell and his .616 OPS is always the first or second pinch hitter? Other than Macha being stupid.

He probably has better career numbers than Lo Cain.

Oh good, Carlos Gomez is pinch hitting.

Does Macha just have him drag bunt? It's about the only way he will get on base.

I was at last night's game. I can't decide if being there tonight would have been better. I mean, if they lose that would be unfortunate, but this is a game you could say "I was there." Last night, they won, but it was pretty boring.
You may run like Mays...

Good for Edmonds, he finally had a good game. Of course this pretty much means Cain has no shot of starting tomorrow and will more than likely be sent down when Gallardo comes off the DL. Damn.

Lefty starting tomorrow. Don't think Edmonds starts. Gomez probably will though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Good. I'd rather him play everyday in Nashville rather than ride the bench in Milwaukee.

Lost in all the excitement of the game, DJ Reyburn is my new favorite umpire. It was nice to see a young umpire that understands that he is not the center of the game (the anti Joe West??). When Russell came out to argue in the 7th, Reyburn stood with his arms crossed, responded to Russell's complaints with no emotion, gave him a sufficient amount of time to complain, then ran him. After the ejection, he didn't say another word as Russell continued to yell. This should be the model for umps, hopefully this trend will continue as some of the old guard get out of the league.
