To expand on MassHaas's note on Gamel's AVG since July 1st, his slash line since then is .340/.402/.551/.953. He's also only struck out 4 times in his last 46 ABs, but I guess that can happen when you hit .435

I for one can't really see a situation that would allow him to come up unless an injury(s) occurs especially with Gomez about to start his rehab assignment.

Unfortunately, there's just absolutely no room for him. All the positions are covered and they are not going to sit McGehee. And there's no point in bringing him up and having him ride the bench. He's pretty much screwed until spring training or this offseason if Prince or somebody else gets traded.
