I searched.. please forgive me if this has already been posted to the forums. In case it hasn't... many here will really enjoy this.

Here's a writeup:

In the world of fringe sportswriting, there is brilliant, and then

there is “Tweets

from 1982.” The account is re-living 1982 from a Milwaukee Brewers

fan’s perspective. On Feb. 8, for instance, it noted the release of

pitcher Reggie Cleveland (who was released by the Brewers on Feb. 5, 1982). On

Valentine’s Day, the account said that “this year’s”

packs of Topps cards will arrive in stores in two weeks. Even Brewers closer

John Axford thanked the account for tweets from one year before he was

born. It’s still unclear who will enjoy this Twitter account

more—Brewers fans, nostalgia freaks or SABR members—but if its

beginnings are any indication, this might be an account worth following, just

for the joy of looking back at a season where the Brewers, then in the American

League, (SPOILER ALERT!) lost the World Series in seven games to St. Louis.

Thanks for sharing. I'm signing up for twitter just so I can follow the 82 tweets. Very cool idea.

It's definitely been in existence for at least a year, but it's still a fun reminder for everyone who hasn't found TweetsFrom1982 yet.

Did they actually do the entire '82 season? I am only semi-Twitiliterate, but I can only find the pre-season stuff. At any rate, whoever did this must have been around in '82.... I can tell from the 'have the Topps cards came out yet, Donruss and Fleer suck' comment and the good riddance comment on the Reggie Cleveland tweet.

RockCoCougars, you can only find the pre-season because that's the only thing that's happened so far. They are posted from a time warp where Twitter exists in 1982. Also follow 1987 for the most exciting April ever.
