Well, Almonte hit 6th the other games he played, but it's probably a good move to put him behind Betancourt.

This would be a great time for Wolf to get a "quality start". Hopefully he does better, but after the last two starts I'll take three runs in six innings.

Watching MLB Network right now and in the scrolling "Who's Hot" side bar, there was a graphic showing that Corey Hart has really good stats in his career versus Maholm. Good to know.

"I know they talked a lot in spring training," said Roenicke. "I brought it to their attention they they need to work it out. 'Luc' is going to be our catcher. I don't want him to go through the season without catching (Wolf).

 

 

I knew last year that Macha purposely paired Kottaras with Wolf after that game Wolf showed Lucroy up by gesturing and vocally showing his displeasure with his catcher. I recall watching Wolf act like a prima donna and felt sorry for Lucroy. Wolf is 0-2 with a 7+ ERA. I'm glad JLuc didn't catch any of his other games this year when he was shelled so he can't be used as a scapegoat if he gets his (butt) handed to him again tonight....by the Pirates.

 

Mad respect for RR's decision to do this. Great managerial move. Macha was scared to "upset" Wolf, and RR just wants to win.
