Rangers acquire Mike Adams

The Rangers acquired reliever Mike Adams from the Pads for pitching prospects Joe Wieland and Robbie Erlin.

Wow, that's a lot to give up for Mike Adams. People thought that was the package the Pads wanted for Bell.

Gotta wonder what the Rangers are going to do with Feliz, if they're going to keep him in the pen or stretch him back into a starter. I'd keep him in the pen, because that gives them much more strength!

I'd rather have Adams. Look at his numbers the last two years, flat out dominant.

And he is not a free agent after this year. Leading up to the deadline I read numerous places that the Padres were asking more for Adams.

Yeah plus Bell will be Type A, so SD had motivation to keep him. Great pickups in the pen for Texas between Uehara and Adams.

No question. That should really help them. They are probably going to run away and hide with the division, but I guess I still can't pick anyone to win the AL but one of the monsters from the East (I think Boston will win the World Series, actually). Regardless, nice moves. If they want, they can stretch Feliz out next spring and hand over the 9th to Adams.
