I'm no Nyjer apologist, not a big fan of his antics and such, but isn't a hard line drive directly at the CF one of the toughest plays to make in baseball? You see guys get fooled on that all the time. It was a bullet that took about 2 seconds to reach where he was standing, impossible to judge if it was coming low, high, or straight at him. Yeah, it would have been better to take a couple steps back rather than freeze like that (and he still probably would have needed to leap to catch it), but it's tough to be upset that he didn't make that play.

It definitely should have been caught, but you are correct. It's really hard to judge line drives like that. Those are caught way more than they are missed, but I would guess that as far as catches that should be made go, that's the most botched kind.

By the way, for those that haven't checked the Cardinals' box score, I suggest taking a look.

He's probably going to have to throw 140 pitches to get it.

It's interesting because Beltran hit a fair ball that was called wrong by the 3B umpire.

BA amd Rock just jinxed it

I'm about 99% sure BA does that kind of stuff intentionally. He ALWAYS says specifically what's going on with things like that, whether it involves the Brewers or not.

Cardinals with 1 out in the 9th. (this is where Extra Innings comes in handy)

Or MLB network for that matter. What a gift Holliday gives him flying out on the first pitch

A Mets fan ran onto the field and didn't quite make it to the pileup...

I just rewound back to the ending and that fan definitely made it to the pileup. He was jumping around with the team for a good while until two security guards tackled him. That was awesome.

What a terrible no-hitter. 5 walks and a hit that was ruled foul.

That no hitter was of the Edwin Jackson variety, but it works. Against the Cardinals, I'll take anything I can get.

AZBrewCrew, tomorrow is a no TV game.
