Carlos Lee on a minor league deal would be ok. If we're going to sign a backup first basemen for the first couple months it should probably be a right hander.

I'm not sure he's going to have a choice. He either takes a deal like that, or retires.

It'd be a coin flip for me on whether I'd prefer Lee or Richie Sexson. I know I'd rather just roll with Gamel and use Green in emergencies than giving more than a minor league deal to a broke-down old guy, though.

I really do like Abreu---he's still a good obp guy, and i guess he can technically be an outfielder. He'd be great off the bench. Of course, like every other guy I've mentioned, he's super rich, getting fat, and doesn't have a compelling reason to keep playing.

I'd be in favor of bringing Carlos Lee back, but like others, I don't see him doing so for a few million tops. I'm also intrigued somewhat by Aubrey Huff, who'd probably be available as a NRI.

Overbay must really not want to play in Milwaukee. Either that or Melvin does not like him very much. I really thought this would get done. Made too much sense. Instead we signed a backup IF because our current backup IF is our starting 1B.
