Performance + traditional scouting

A few weeks ago I questioned the hiring of Paul DePodesta by the Dodgers wondering if it would hurt the Dodgers & their recent scouting/drafting efforts. A nice story on BA by Jim Callis has answered most of my questions, and I'm happy to hear that both men, DePod & White, are welcoming the challenge. There are also some interesting blurbs about the Moneyball draft, which really wasn't all that cost-efficient, vs. the Dodgers' efforts the past couple of years, in which they have landed a few pricey draft picks in later rounds:
