Why couldn't we have taken a flier on this guy in the 27th?

Posted

The Minnesota Twins selected P Peter Taraskevich in the 27th round of the draft. Peter is from American heritage High in Sunrise, FL. He can touch 90 mph right-handed, and 85 mph left-handed.

This guy reminds me of an old children's book I read about an ambidextrous pitcher. It culminated in a duel between him and a switch-hitter.

Reminiscent of Greg Harris, who could almost get to 80 as a LHP. He had a special glove made that he could wear on either hand. He wanted to pitch both ways in a game, but I don't think he was ever allowed to by his teams.

I wish i knew a girl that could go both ways.

Ila Borders?

Anywho, I don't think you can get too worried about the Brewers not drafting this guy. It's not like the Twins will let him pitch with both hands. Any club that would let him do that would be borderline insane.

The Indians had a few ambidextrous pithcers way back when. Cal McLish is the one that stands out to me (think Early Wynn was another). Though he didn't throw both ways in a pro game, he was well-known for having the ability to do so.

Hey just think about the attendance we could get if we converted the Brewers into a circus side show act...

Witness, the dual handed pitcher!

Amaze at the power slugging relief pitcher! (Kieschnick)

And behold the first one man battery! (Tim Dillard as P and C)
