Getting to Train for Wrigley from the North

How does everyone usually take the train to Wrigley when they come from Milwaukee/Kenosha/etc.? I have taken it from Skokie (Yellow), but that is coming from the western suburbs to go. I remember it being pretty crummy traffic at rush hour around there. Do people from the north usually take it from Linden (Purple)? When I checked both are essentially the same timewise from Kenosha.

Are you driving from Kenosha and hoping to park somewhere north and take the train in?

Take the Metra train from Kenosha to Evanston - Davis Street. Hop off there, walk a half block and take the Purple CTA "El" line into the city to any stop that also has the Red line, then transfer to a Red line train and take that to the Addison stop next to the stadium.

Yes, the yellow line has a solid amount of parking and I would assume the purple line does too.

 

Regarding the metra I’d prefer not to do so much switching with trains and walking. I don’t mind driving the hour to get to the El system. I just want nothing to do with driving into Chicago and paying the parking.

There is metered street parking near the purple line and there are probably structures downtown as well. Another option is to drive to the Howard stop of the red line. I believe there is a structure there. That way you can just take the red line all the way to Wrigley without any transfers. The neighborhood is a bit shadier than anything in Evanston however. You might even look into shuttles from Evanston direct to Wrigley.

I have done that once. Yes, a parking ramp at the Howard stop. Just seem to recall a long drive from the Interstate to Howard, lots of traffic lights(?)

 

Last time, I drove to Skokie and took the yellow to red. I would do it again.
