I never feel optimistic facing Hendricks, Brewers rarely do well against him. But at the same time this Cubs offense doesn't scare me either, so should have a decent chance if they can just avoid having to face Hendricks for 9 innings again...

It will be the token Eric Sogard start. I wish Huira would move down in the order.

Gamel CF

Garcia RF ( easier on his legs if he play daily)

Yelich LF

Gyorko 1B (keep him on the field)

Vogelbach DH

Huira 2B

Narvaez C

Arcia SS

Sogard 3B

Stearns had to of stepped in with Sogard. No other explanation.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

100% agreed.

No way CC made that decision for himself, he had help.

Suter’s first six pitches result in strikeouts of Happ and Bryant. Not bad.

Edit: Strikes out the side in the 1st.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Hendricks is historically a lot better at home than away. Maybe that will play out again tonight.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Looks like the gameplan is to swing early in the count?
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Wow, this Cubs offense is horrid this weekend. Even we don't strike out this much.

shhhh, don't poke the bear.

Great charge and barehand throw on that play by Urías. Seems like the Brewers have allowed less infield hits lately.

I posted this after the game last night. It still holds true.

The Cubs offense, no matter who is playing and how good they might be generally turns into complete trash against our pitching.

I'm not going to lie. I wish they would let Suter start the rest of the year. Just let him go as far as he can, maybe he only makes it to the 5th once the rest of the year but I think it's a lot more likely he shows success as a starter next year than Anderson, Lindblom or Houser.
