I's now up to Jace Peterson?

Lord.

Prove me wrong JP!

When a team scores 2 runs and is in danger of losing by 1, not sure how you can be angry at pitching (starting or bullpen). The Brewers biggest issue by far this year (other than a few games) has been offense..especially in games where pitching has done their job.

It sucks losing a close game, but probably needed to generate scoring beyond just a Urias HR offensively to feel like it’s truly one that slipped away. Lots of hard contact for the Brewers tonight, just not much to show for it.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Suter had to pitch the 8th in a one run game facing 3 righties.

Jace Peterson hit in the 9th down one with one on and 2 out.

I don’t feel great about the depth of this team anymore.

The bullpen ERA is over 5? I thought I looked it up today and it was 3 something, 9th in MLB.

Brian and Bill said it was over 5 and that they've been the opposite of the rotation.

Baseball Reference had it listed as 5.05 ERA for the bullpen entering tonight’s game:

https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/split.cgi?t=p&team=MIL&year=2021#sprel_extra

20 earned runs in 35.2 innings pitched. Sporting a 1.514 WHIP. Not the strength of the team so far this season.

And as the 2020 Phillies will tell you: if your bullpen sucks, you suck

Way to early to make a final judgement on the pen. Or anything for that matter. It’s like we never learn.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Yelich, Cain, and Wong aren't bad options for depth.

Man contreras is so gross. I'm all about celebrating your hr, but him doing that is just him being a punk. Gets a chip on his shoulder over hbp when he's consistently leaning into inside pitches trying to get hit, then makes a good swing and goes dramatic bat flip and shush the crowd. What a punk, I hope a brewer hits a hr tomorrow and points at contreras or does something to get under his fragile skin

Ehhh, it was one of those nights. Hit a lot of hard balls, but just at people all night. Keep putting AB’s like that and they will find holes more often than not.

I don't mind what Contreras did, just makes me all the more excited to watch the next game and hope for a Brewers win. I hope we get the opportunity to do the same thing!

Nope. Even if the pen was lights out, that will change by September, heck by May. It's a long season, and the pen will go through 20 guys until they have it figured out. History does tell us they figure it out.

I know the offense wasn’t great tonight but the bullpen has stunk all year. That 8th and 9th should have been Williams and Hader without a question but with Williams stinking up the joint, I’m not sure what else you do. We just really need Williams to start pitching like himself again or the bullpen could be a huge liability all year.

It's like we aren't allowed to have opinions on what the strengths and weaknesses of the team are.

It’s not drawing a conclusion; it’s a fact. To this point the bullpen has sucked. Maybe they turn it around but maybe they don’t. Time will tell. Inconsistent hitting and a leaky bullpen are ruining what has been an unbelievable run of starting pitching to start the year

3 walks and a dinger. Good night for Urias.

Did Arcia ever have a 3walk game?. Urias will be batting 2nd here soon with the OB skills that may turn in to BA skills. Especially if he's in front of Yelich.

Another blown loss on Woodruff pitching game. Tough loss. Hader going more than just the 9th might have kept the W for Woody. I imagine Counsell when the decision to keep Williams from high leverage innings for now, planned the 8th for Suter all along. Hader 9th for a save or Perdomo 9th when behind. Not taking the in game meaning of the moment. 3rd QS by Woodruff 0 wins to show for it up 1Run vs division rival. Nah not the best rp in baseball over the last 3years because hes my 9th inning giy and Id have to rest him for tomorrow....well he didn't pitch tonight did he?

Williams pitched last night, that's why he wasn't available tonight.

Uh, didn't Suter pitch last night?

EDIT: Well I'm wrong that was 2 nights ago. But guys go back to back in the pen all the time.

I'm guessing with Thursday off, Yelich isn't going at all until Friday.

Either Yelich or Cain has to be going on the IL by Friday, if not tomorrow. Can’t play down two outfielders for very long. I expect to see Taylor soon.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

24th in K/9 as a bullpen (8.83), 30th in BB/9 (yes, that's bad) (5.80), dead last in xFIP and 24th in FIP. They have been terrible thus far.
