We’ll see how Michigan looks today but my hunch is that there isn’t much, if any, of a gap between Michigan/Michigan State/Penn State and Wisconsin/Iowa/Purdue.

You are probably right but of course having OSU on top of that division still creates a big gap between the divisions. Surprised everyone is so convinced Michigan can't win today, spread is about the same as the Wisconsin game. I can't decide who I want to win, sort of want the shot at OSU but also wouldn't mind them getting booted from playoffs.

It's like picking between Voldemort and Sauron.

My brain is struggling right now. I can’t possibly root for either team, so I’ve developed a system. Every time Michigan does something good I chuckle and think, suck it Ohio State. Then when Ohio State does something good I chuckle and think, suck it Harbaugh.

I dunno... Ohio State has so much offensive firepower. OSU 42, Michigan 17. We'll see.

Badgers would have a far better chance stopping the Michigan run game then they would the Ohio State passing game. Especially indoors on turf.

Badgers hung tough with Michigan for 2 1/2 quarters before they had any kind of offensive identity at all. I'd like a rematch with Michigan now that we've developed a strong run game and Mertz is at least playing not terribly.

Like you said, I don't think they can do much to slow down Ohio St's air attack. Also, if Ohio State loses today, they're out of the playoffs, and that makes me happy as heck. So I'm pulling for Michigan for multiple reasons.

It's going to kill the committee not to be able to put a 2 loss non conf champ OSU team in the playoff over a team like Cincinnati knowing that OSU probably wins that matchup 8 out of 10 times.

But they can't. At some point results have to be a big part of the formula and not just "we think these are the 4 best teams."

The one weakness showing up for Ohio State today is Michigan is able to get pressure on Stroud. Completely different offense when he can stand in the pocket, and in some big situations, Michigan is getting home.

Agree with this. I know Cincy has played a pretty weak schedule (they did beat Notre Dame) and at times hasn't looked dominant, but they ran the table and have a +24 ppg average. I don't think they're one of the four "best" teams, but if Ohio State has two losses, I look at losing either today or in the B10 title game (lol) as an eliminator, and they just don't deserve to be in the playoff.

Just a few years ago the committee put Ohio State in the playoff over Penn State despite PSU winning head to head and the conference championship. They proceeded to get curbstomped in the semi finals. I wouldn't put anything past this committee.

Wow, I get the "let them score" strategy, but to put the other team up one score, not two, with only two minutes left. If you're OSU you just have to try and get a takeaway by any means necessary.

Things are set up perfectly for the Badgers.

Michigan will be due for a letdown after leaving it all on the field today.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

At the time of the selection PSU was 11-2 with a +173 point differential while OSU was 11-1 with a +342 point differential against a more difficult schedule.

Maybe if PSU didn't lose to Pitt or get clobbered 49-10 by Michigan they would have had a better chance.

I think the committee picked the team with the better overall body of work.

I generally pull for the road team in this rivalry because I don’t want to see the fans happy.

Yeah this brutal how long do we have to watch this?

It’s awful.

Conversely, I could watch deflated Michigan fans pout and mope out of the big house for hours.
