In the last couple of weeks there hasn't been much difference between Cain or JBJ.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

JBJ man.... Why would we ever throw away 4abs in a game??

Gotta keep old man Cain in good shape for October.

Play Taylor. He can run into one every so often. JBJ is defensive replacement at this point.

I really think something was up with Freddy before that AB. His velo seemed down a bit. Looked really irritable with Chris Hook during mound meetings. Just not himself.

Still hoping it's just a precaution, something a skipped start or two could take care of.

If he swings at that pitch he probably strikes out and then everybody ….probably including Rock….is saying “ you can’t swing at that pitch”

This is exactly right...I hate the "it was too close to take" expression for big league players. It's not little league where anything close is a strike, there is a clear strike zone and the umps are paid a lot of money to call it right and the ump here missed it. Yelich isn't doing anything productive by swinging at that pitch

Freddy had seven days off before this start so we can't say the brewers didn't take care of him. Just tough news for sure. Changes everything if he's out.

Shoulder discomfort is certainly better than elbow discomfort.

Cautiously optimistic that this is just the late season fatigue. A few week shut down isn't worst case scenario here if it leads to a fresh Freddy come October

Or oblique discomfort for that matter. He clearly winced on that swing. I bet this ends up being more precautionary and a reason to save some innings as much as anything.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I agree you invest millions of dollars in these guys to pitch and for them to get hurt swinging the bat is ridiculous. There’s nothing more boring than watching pitchers try to hit.

Again, I not a never DH in NL guy, but if Peralta hurt his shoulder swinging the bat, I think it was just a matter of time before he got hurt throwing a baseball. His velocity was down tonight.

Maybe you’re right about his injury bound to happen anyway. But I stand by what I said with the DH the games are long and boring and to take every ninth out and say it’s a waste of time that’s not smart in my book.
