The Nashville Sounds were placed in the spotlight Tuesday evening, thanks to the big league season's one-week delay. With the Brewers other affiliates set to debut this Friday, the men at AAA will be the primary focus of the daily report for a bit. The entertainment factor turned out to be high on Opening Night!

Final: Nashville 5, Durham (Rays) 4

Nashville Site Game Summary:

Sounds Score Walk-Off Winner on Opening Day - Corey Ray’s Infield Single in the Ninth Wins it for Nashville

We'll build off the always-detailed game summaries (definitely suggested reading) with nuggets and observations, and please add in your own thoughts by commenting on our daily posts all season.

Wait, we can embed tweets now? Thank you very much, site upgrade! Jon Singleton kicks off the game's timeline. Nice to have home games on the docket for the higher quantity of video content. We always thank the production crews at each affiliate for providing these highlights, and Voice of the Sounds Jeff Hem is in fine Opening Night form.

Reminder - Brice Turang will be 22 years old all season long.

In nine Nashville starts in 2021, Ethan Small posted a 2.06 ERA but walked 21 and struck out 24 in 35 innings. So perhaps the note on his strikeouts here isn't as surprising as one might think initially.

Keep in mind that both highlights you are about to see happened in the top of the 6th within moments of each other. Despite allowing line drive base hits to the first three men he faced, RH reliever Hobie Harris escaped with a scoreless inning and no doubt treated Corey Ray to a cold one after the game.

Now remember, it's called a walk-off because the losing team walks off the field. The winning team tends to bounce off, high-five off, etc.

Brice Turang and Jamie Westbrook on base thrice each.

All nine lineup starters played the entire game. Your Opening Night bench: C Brett Sullivan, INF's Mark Mathias and Andruw Monasterio, OF's Jonathan Davis, Dustin Peterson and Garrett Whitley.

We're all Luke Barker fans, but the two runs he allowed in a save situation set up the final dramatics: Ground ball single, wild pitch, walk, line drive single to load the bases, ground ball RBI single, sacrifice fly, then nice work to preserve the tie.
