Yelich's underlying metrics are still really good, but I wouldn't be opposed to giving him one of the games off tomorrow...

This may be true, but “underlying” is not fun to watch - his at bats have been somewhat brutal as a general rule since the one week he was red-hot

So, who do people think is going to be sent down for Ethan Small? I hope it's not Hiura. My guess is Kelley or Sanchez. Or is the extra player for doubleheaders still a thing?

Still a thing.  Sanchez was already with the team to be the extra man when Perdomo hit the IL.  Also need to be 13/13 after Monday.

I believe they moved the 13/13 thing back a few more weeks, did they not? So, Small will probably come up just for the start then, unless they plan on featuring him out of the bullpen, too.

It’s hard to get excited about exit velocity when the result is rapping into an easy double play.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Who will Counsell pitch in the final few innings today?

Suter needs work to get himself right, but I don’t trust him at all

Who else needs to pitch?

Pretty much all of our back-end guys pitched yesterday, and they did quite well in doing so I must say. So, Gott maybe just so things don't get too interesting? Or I could see Milner, too, with some lefties coming up in the Cardinals' half of the inning.

Wittgren should probably retire.  Sure, Cain's a ML player so he always has the ability to hit a ball hard, but if you give up the first HR to him in the season he's having, you should just hang it up.

I was just thinking what it would take to get Narvaez up in the 9th for a shot at the Cycle, but that means Yelich and Cutch have to not be black holes.  Seems today anything can happen.

Ok. I said what I said. But I’ll tip my cap when needed! If this is all it takes who should I complain about tomorrow :).

Burnes is fun to watch pitch btw

They actually missed the proper cutoff man on that relay. Maybe that’s what prompted the  coach to send him.

thanks. I only know what I hear on the radio. ?

I’m glad to see Suter get some much needed work - perfect game to help him “get right”

That said - I hope he is able to get three outs without surrendering a run

I’d love to see Milwaukee shoutout St. Louis on the raod

I’m not hopeful after the first batter he faced

Beating the Cardinals is always great, but when their ace and defense start to implode on top of that, its the pinnacle of regular season baseball for me.

I tend to attribute some magical mysterious gift of wonderful "fundamental" baseball to the Cards. Totally irrational.

It makes this game fun as I see my delusions debunked.

Left St. Louis with a 3.5 game lead in the division for Memorial Day. Mission accomplished, I'd say. And we took some games from "good teams" with a depleted roster.
