Music-Playing Ads

I am saddened to see, or rather, hear this scourge visit brewerfan.net. Besides initially scaring the crap out of me, it's just not the kind of thing I want to hear coming out of my computer's speakers. I understand that the bills need to get paid, though.

It was for Thumbplayer.com (I think that's what it was called...ringtones from Fergie and the like)---I notied that it generally occurred only when I dragged my mouse under the page, which I assume triggered it (it also happens when you drag your mouse directly over it, too.

Is it one of the ads at the bottom of the forum?

Yeah, below the Google Search. I suppose those are out of your control, now that I look at it.

 

Anyway, no big deal, I just need to remember to turn my volume down when I come to bf.net. At least it's not one of the smiley "HEL-LO!!!!" ones

I had the same experience as well -- I heard the ad, and then I figured someone else complained about it and it was removed.

Did the ad have an image associated with it?... if so, I believe I can turn off image ads.

Yeah -- I believe so. I will make note of it next time, if it happens again. -- I only noticed it one time, so I do not want to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

This is just a stab in the dark, but is there some kind of aural CSS that would disable sound that could be included in the brewerfan and forum style sheets?
