I will say, that the Brewers and Giants consistently might be the closest group of games vs any team the last couple years that I can remember. Neither team is truly out, and usually within a run/ last at bat win.

Nobody gets calls reversed.  But LaRussa would have been getting in the umps ear.

Taking stock.

I think this team is pretty lucky to be in playoff position at the break. Injuries and an unproductive offense. This team needed to ride Woody, Peralta, and Burnes, and only one of those guys has been in form.

I'm a little disappointed because we probably should be 4 or 5 games up at this point, but the Cardinals are saying the same thing, I imagine.

 

Edit to add: the difference between winning the division and not is home field for a three-game set. Not a big deal, I don't think. And if you can't even make that round, you weren't good enough.
