Wisconsin has won 3 games in a row at home against Beloit and has stud 20-year old RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (1.44 ERA in 6 High-A starts) on the mound tonight. Rehabbing major league OF Jonathan Davis is in center field and 19-year old C Jeferson Quero has a 9-game hitting streak:

Carolina trails Myrtle Beach 2-0 on the road in their final series of the year and sends RHP Alexander Vallecillo (4.75 ERA in ACL/Low-A) out for his 6th appearance (4th start) at this level. RF Eduarqui Fernandez has an 11-game on-base streak:

AA Biloxi aims for a 2nd straight win to even their home series against Mississippi 2-2 and has solid 24-year old LHP Brandon Knarr (2.25 ERA over last 24 IP with 28 Ks) starting tonight. Does CF Terence Doston have another big game in him (3-for-4, 2 HR, 4 RBIs yesterday)?

Woo hoo! SS Brice Turang is back in the Nashville lineup after a recent injury and 23-year old LHP Robert Gasser makes his 2nd-ever start in AAA ball, as the Sounds need a victory to even their series in Charlotte 2-2. DH/OF Joey Wiemer comes in with a 17-game on-base streak:

I do love any version of the strike them out, throw them out double play. In inning two, Feliciano guns down a man on 2nd base and Gasser Mows down his second batter of the inning. Man, I have loved this young man’s mound presence from game 1 in the Brewers system. He just learns and adapts from start-to-start better than any pitcher in the system. He has 3 K, 1 H, 0  BB, 0 R through 2 IP. Sounds lead 4-0.

Love the work I am seeing from both Weston Wilson and Patrick Dorrian in the Sounds playoff push. Both are swinging a much better bat in the most important month of the season. Both hit back-to-back doubles here in the 3rd inning to plate runs. 6-0 Sounds. Let’s go for those playoffs, men! Let’s get a trophy!

Corey Ray long ball is followed by a Garrett Whitley double. Biloxi leads 1-0. That’s Ray’s 7th of his year. Knarr pitches a scoreless, one hit, first inning. Whitley later followed with a two-run jack plating Ray. Do you think he saw this pitch?

With the Sounds up 6-0 in the 4th and Louisville leading Columbus 4-1, we have another shot to push the division lead to 4 1/2 games over those pesky Clippers. Let’s go get it!

Oh my is Jon Singleton on a late season power binge. He just dipped back into the home run buffet and launched another Jack over the wall in right field onto the Top forking Deck! Whewwww. That’ll plate Andrew Monasterio who was standing on first after his lead-off single. 8-0 Sounds!

Wait, you don’t believe me?! Fine.

T-Rats lead 3-0 as super stud, Carlos F. Rodriguez, has a certain kind of game going early. Oh, and this just happened in the bottoM of the 2nd:

Joey Wiemer updated BB:K at Triple-A:

He walks in the top of the 6th and is 2-for-3 overall tonight. 0 K. Oh and he walks again. And my heart flutters.

Louisville takes down Columbus. Sounds lead 9-1 here headed to the bottom of the 9th. It would certainly appear the 4 1/2 game lead atop the division is back in play.

And he ends up with another walk. Really having a good end to his season.

Really feels like this is kinda the last question remaining with Wiemer.

Is he a all or nothing type guy in RF? That still certainly has value. A guy who hits for power but strikes out a ton and hits for a low average...or a guy with pretty good plate discipline, who can hit in that ~.250-.270 range and stick around that 10% walk rate AND still make hard contact.

THAT is a potential Superstar middle of the rotation type hitter. Excluding teenagers, he certainly seems like the guy in this farm system who's got the most upside.

That's not to take anything away from the rest of the studs we've got. Turang's potential value has just increased with the new rules regarding the shift and the renewed emphasis on IF defense, athleticism(he's also been one of my favorite prospects for a while now). Frelick has been almost comically good this year, one year away and Mitchell is like that create a player in video games.

But speedy Jay Buhner...that's a fun prospect.

Also, does Vennaro bounces back from ANOTHER 6 ER outing and gets 3Ks...albeit with a H and a BB. He seems like the type of guy who could be a big time weapon if he can improve that command a bit. Though I suppose that can be said for about a dozen prospects in AA and AAA.
