A ball gets away from a Brewers fielder on SB attempt and runner advances an extra base. Fly ball down the line that's barely missed by a Brewers fielder on a diving attempt. Play at the plate where runner should be out by a mile but crazy combination of high tag and sneaky reach by runner yields a run and takes an out off the board.

A's threw a ball into center on an SB attempt (we didn't take the extra base).  Duck snort squirted (I.E. barley missed it) under the glove of the A's LF for a run.  Those seem like things that happen just about every night in MLB, not fluky.

The lack of consistency is maddening.

Now, if we could just get some offense.

Too much to ask for I guess.  Just awful AB after awful AB.

That was a pathetic half inning.

Putrid performance by the offense.

There are some games, maybe most games, where I just cannot see that they have any concept of a game plan at bat to at bat.

God I hate this offense. Every last one of them. There are no hitters on this team. It certainly is not the end-all be-all statistic, but back in the 80s and 90s when I was a kid thumbing through baseball card statistics, if you hit below .235 you were a bum.

Well it is an offense of pretty much all bums.  They don't rank at or near the bottom in every major offensive category for nothing.

A lot of days you can chalk it up in part to facing good pitching, but not today.  They faced a group of mostly talentless AAA/AA level pitchers and scored two runs.
