The up-and-down Double-A career of LHP Nick Bennett continues. With two down he surrenders a three-run blast. Ensuing batter an infield single to 3B. It's now 10-7 Shuckers. Two down. The men will try to escape with a win. Yikes.

Boy, this is not the start to the 9th inning we're looking for as the Shuckers are clinging to a 10-7 lead. RHP Luis Contreras is on the hill. 5 pitch lead-off walk. First pitch slider in the dirt that bounces to Quero's right and he rushes the grab and throw and launches that ball into CF. Man to third. Yikes.

Sheesh. Bases are juiced. It's 10-8 Shuckers. Two down. Contreras was pulled after a pitch clock walk on a 3-0 count. RHP Zach Vennarro comes aboard and his first pitch is hit sharply up the middle. Zamora is slow to cover the bag. The play might be to first. Valerio sprints to second base and beats the slide by maybe 1/2 inch? OR, he didn't beat the slide. Who cares. Win. Let's run to the clubhouse. Yikes.
