Back?  It has been on display for over a week most of the time.  :-/

It was a brief respite,  but I was giving them credit for scoring 5 runs last night with only 2 on a HR. That was an aberration.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

This feels like 2022 on repeat.

Time to sell sell sell....

The irony is, the justification for keeping this group together is getting less and less by the day. Sure, by rule somebody has to win the NL Central but that seems like a terrible justification for keeping this group together.

This group has already been together a long time and have started going backwards: from being in game 7 of the NLCS, to missing the playoffs completely in ‘22, and could very well have a losing record before the weekend is over.

Even if they get their  injured pitchers back to full health, does that make them a heavy weight n their league amongst the Braves, Dodgers and Diamondbacks? If you’re a fringe contender then it’s not really worth the prospect capital to fortify the roster with rental players in July.

To me, it’s become a directionless franchise: not talented enough to be more than an underdog contender, their trade-able  assets get less valuable every day, and they have no blue chippers on the cusp of the majors to turn the tide more in their favor.

The biggest problem in Milwaukee is MLB's payroll structure.

Make it fair, MLB!

It's a stacked/rigged league!

Boo!

With that said, get Keston Hiura in his MLB uniform (get Singleton out of here).  Get as many contact/speed guys in the lineup as possible (go to the minors if you have to for such players), and draft/develop such players.

We will never win given (1) MLB's payroll structure AND (2) going for big strikeout/slow guys that we hope pop homers all the time.

We are doing a good job with the pitching side of things the last several years overall, other than trading Hader for nothing much.

Sadly, I agree that this has become a directionless franchise. For a small market team that is scary. The culprit is the "bite of the apple" approach. Not rebuilding properly and not buying to win big.

I hope to god I am wrong and the sell off of Burnes, Woodruff, Williams begins this summer.

If the Brewers would trade those three guys they would instantly, 1. Fix the payroll problem, 2. Rebuild the minor league system. May not be the top rated farm but it would be top 3.

Please pass this along to Keston Hiura as long as our management thinks Singleton is still better than him!

Keston Hiura hasn't been available for over a month. When that changes I suspect he'll be ahead of Singleton in the pecking order, which has always been the case.
