As mentioned in Monday's Link Report:

In order to give every MiLB affiliate an opportunity for a July 3rd or July 4th Fireworks Night attendance boon, the next set of six-game series are delayed by one day to a Wednesday-thru-Monday schedule. As such, we'll have only another three rookie complex games on Tuesday.

Tuesday's lone birthday is Maryvale infielder Juan Baez, who turns 18 years old.

Baez posted a .685 OPS in his age 17 season in the DSL in 2022.

This season, Baez' line in 13 games is .421/.421/.526 (.947 OPS in 57 AB's). No walks yet, though he walked 17 times (vs. 198 AB's) last summer.

Eeeeek, the DSL Crew are facing our current arch nemesis in the DSL Dodgers. Tight ones in both:

• 2-1 DSL Uno in the bottom of the 3rd vs the Dodgers Mega
• 1-0 Dodgers Bautista (16-0 record !!) lead the DSL Dos as they head into the top of the 5th.

When almost-19 year old INF/OF (2nd OF start today) Demetrio Nadal wasn't in any DSL lineup yesterday, I was hoping that he'd been promoted to the ACL (e.g. to replace Beyker Pastran). However, he's batting 9th for DSL Brewers-2, delivering a double for their lone hit thus far.

Batting .435 (in his 10th game today), Nadal's 9 stolen bases (with zero CS) place him in a tie for 5th in the 50-team Dominican Summer League, despite seeing less playing time than nearly everyone else in the top-35 list.

In the DSL-1 game, SS Kevin Ereu has reached twice (single, walk) and CF Yophery Rodriguez has tripled.

It's break-out day for 17-year old INF Gery Holguin, who smacked a 3-run homer in the 6th inning to give DSL Brewers-1 a 6-4 lead over Dodgers Mega, then tripled in a run in the 8th inning to grab another lead at 7-6, part of reaching base 4 times today (HR, triple, single, walk).

Holguin received the 4th-highest signing bonus in our 2022 class, though it didn't break the bank at $450,000. Downshifted to playing 3B/1B this year (after getting 40% of his innings at SS last year, the rest at 3B/2B) and batting 9th today, let's hope this is the start of something amazing.

Oh, and 6'4", 17-year old OF Christopher Vasquez of DSL Brewers-2 may not get much playing time (just 18 PAs thus far), but when does he simply mashes: 3rd homer of the season today, .400 AVG, 1.700 OPS.

You might have a bit of competition in the deep war room of @sveumrulesand his 'Free Edgardo Ordonez NOW!' 2023 campaign. I'm still reeling from the ho-hum output of my personal favorite, Yeison Perez since his grandiose ACL debut. Oh, Yeison come back to me. 😂

And, yet, both DSL Cerveceros lose to the Dodgers yet again. My goodness, as an organization amongst the Rookie Clubs we are on an 0-7 mark here versus those Big Market Bad Guys. Booooo! I don't think we were looking for the 7-spot ninth frame to lose that tight 7-6 lead 13-7! 🥲

LHP Justin Wilson seeing his first action of 2023 rehabbing with the ACL Crew tonight. In his first inning of work:

1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 HR, 3 K, 1 ER

All K's were of the swinging variety. And that will be all tonight for Wilson, understandably. He gives way to LHP Osbriel Mogollon who will come on in relief for the 3rd inning.

It was 5-2 Reds. And, then the ACL Crew decided they wanted to one up the DSL Uno's 7-run (allowed) 9th and spot the Reds an 11-run 4th frame. Wooof.

BUT, hold on one minute. The Crew are in the midst of a 7-run 5th inning outburst! INF Dylan O'Rae just plated two with a double. And, there are still no outs. Let's go for 20!😂
