Well.      Tellez has been getting a chance to prove himself lately.

chafin Anderson and wiemer need to go.     Tellez I’m on the fence with.      But let’s face it.    He’s an out of shape first baseman who provides no other value unless he’s pounding the ball

The eye test on Tellez leads me to believe he gained a substantial amount of weight when on DL.  It's pretty easy to see.  My guess is an already big guy packed on 12-15 LBS.

One thing we need to emphasize, Wiemer was never in their plans to start the season with the Brewers.  He was only here due to necessity, and the sad thing is, we ended up needing him most of the season.

I am certainly not faulting him for anything, fact of the matter is, he probably could have used another year in the minors, but that just isn't what happened.

I really hope he starts the year in AAA next year, gets some things figured out with his swing, and can help us out in the second half.

Forget which poster said that Weimer being up this year will end up being a blessing in disguise.   The brewers got a year advancement on realizing that swing doesn't play at the MLB level because of injuries.  Ultimately might be a good thing.

On May 22, Contreras should not have called for sinker down the middle 🙂

Burnes threw so many meatballs that day. Threw a cutter right down the middle to Maldonado that he hit out. Threw a hanging slider right down the middle to Dubon that he hit out. Threw a 93 mph cutter at the bottom of the zone but center of the plate to Alvarez that he hit out. Contreras wanted the backdoor cutter and Burnes drifted it over the center of the plate.

1) Because Abraham Toro isn't going to put up a .886 OPS over 100 plate appearances like Tellez did in March/April of this season.

B) Tellez put up a .991 OPS over his first 21 plate appearances in August after coming off of the DL.

I love both points … 1 & B 😁

I just looked it up. The last time Contreras caught Burnes was May 22nd against the Astros. Burnes gave up 4 HR in that game.

I remember that vividly and remember thinking maybe they should just use Caratini with him all the time. And that worked. But I’m also thinking, Burnes stuff just wasn’t right at the beginning of the year. Maybe Burnes now will be fine with Contreras. Let’s hope :)

Come to think of it….wasn’t Caratini Yu Darvish’s personal catcher for a couple years?

And when the season started this year I thought he looked bigger than last year! Now it’s kinda absurd.

I will never fat shame someone I just think when you’re as big he is it’s not conducive to playing well. I mean like how big his chest and belly are could maybe even be impacting his swing path. There are only so many guys like Prince Fielder and my guy Dimitri Young who can do it for sustained periods.

I know Rowdy is a fan favorite (or was) but outside of the sac fly he provided us recently, what has he done before his injury, and more importantly, after his return.

Other than have an .830 OPS and be on pace for another 35 HR season as of June 1st?

Other than have a .991 OPS the first 21 PA's after coming back from the DL?

It’s ok to fat shame professional athletes.   Get in shape
