I completely understand why Counsell "wanted" him to finish the 6th, but it just wasn't going to happen.

He induced weak contact that inning. Nothing hit well. Just lost his command.

I am guessing he really wanted to get through 6 with Burnes tonight for bullpen management and I can’t blame him for hoping for one more out through 4 hitters from his ace.
