Carolina’s dynamic 18-year-old third baseman Juan Baez lands on the 7-day IL retroactive to Friday 5/30.

Appeared to be an upper arm injury, even if it’s just by the one day, hopefully the retro notation indicates missed time may be limited.

Not really surprising, he’s already been out nearly 60 days.  This move just means his absence will be a total of at least 60 days, not that he’ll be out another two months. In the meantime, it allows for another opening to bring someone stateside from the DSL (or sign someone).

I haven’t heard anything since late April, but his absence has been longer than anyone originally expected.  I’ll check in with him again, but I expect a similar response of hopefully not too much longer.

ZEBULON – The Milwaukee Brewers recently announced a series roster transactions affecting the Carolina Mudcats active roster. The announced moves include C Satchell Norman reinstated from the 7-day IL and promotion of C Victor Torres from the Mudcats to A+ Wisconsin

The Carolina Mudcats roster is currently at 27 active players and 3 on the injured list.
