- INF/OF Angel Pereira activated from ACL Brewers’ 7-day injured list
- RHP Joel Kuhnel outrighted to AAA Nashville from MLB Brewers (though I’m not sure if he accepted it or elected free agency)

RHP Sam Gardner is still a number of weeks away from returning to the mound and, at this point, is targeting August 1 for his return.

Thanks for the update. I've been wondering about Sam. He's been throwing a lot of baseballs since his debut last summer. Hopefully, the rest is good for a re-calibration and he comes back throwing stronger than ever.

I wonder if RHP Alexander Vallecillo has gone the route of a few other Brewers' minor leaguers who essentially fade from the system with no formal transaction note (e.g. released, retired). He last pitched September 5, 2023 and isn't showing on any injured list to my knowledge.

Although he's not listed on the official ACL Brewers' roster page and his own player page doesn't indicate it, Vallecillo is currently on the ACL Brewers’ 60-day IL with an injury that he sustained in the offseason. From what we've been told, his rehab has been going well and the organization hopes to see him back out on the mound in August.

*It is very rare we reach out to those within Brewers' Player Development with such inquiries, but the nature of the web pages provided a valid reason to in this instance. When we have reached out respectfully, it's always been a cooperative response, much appreciated. All within "BrewersPD" are the best!

Hard-throwing, 26-year old LHP Justin King went undrafted in 2021, signed in June 2022, skipped Low-A, played in Australia and the Arizona Fall League, rapidly moving all the way up to AA ball this year.

As we’re not in the habit of releasing hard-throwing lefties in AA ball with 4.5 years of minor league control remaining, there’s likely something more to this, in my opinion. Let me not speculate. I wish Justin the very best.

The 9.31 ER might have had something to do with this.  I wish him the best as its been a rough year for him.

3.20 FIP and 12+ K/9. He has been prone to blow-ups but the highs have been high enough where this is surprising.

I may be a little bias being his father, but it was a bit of a surprise. No speculations, good hard working kid that loves the game. Had a great spring training and start at Biloxi. Velocity fell a bit which hurt, put into a situation in one game with bases loaded and was not hot expecting to pitch but thrown in. We were in Biloxi for his last outing, threw 97/98 and looked very good and the last three games had his velocity back and slider working. Unfortunately, 9 ERA and needing to make room, he got caught in the numbers. Looking forward to seeing him sign with another organization. Fresh arm, learning quick, he will be an asset somewhere. All the best to the BrewCrew!

Thank you sir for the insight. We truly appreciate it. We look forward to hearing the next moves for Justin as he aims to replicate that 2023 success (2.93 ERA with 54 Ks in 30.2 IP!) elsewhere and at higher levels. Good luck to the pride of Lloydminster and Okotoks!

Sigh. I don't get it. Nope.

The blow up innings are going to happen - this is the 'development' process. However, this is coming on the heels of his best month at Double-A (0.238 BAA / 1.00 WHIP/ 8 K / 1 BB / 1 HB / 6 IP). When you have demonstrated the ability to throw the ball as hard as King does with the strikeout stuff he's shown consistently at every level, that's an asset worth continuing to invest in and develop by my eyes and IMHO.

Stay thirsty, Justin. Believe in yourself. Keep grinding. You will definitely be an asset in your next stop. Stay the course. The journey continues.

As to actual intel on the injuries, our best informed source on these goings ons is always @ARobsBrewCrew. Beyond that, we simply need to be patient and await news from either the player(s) or organizations themselves. Wisconsin and the team of Chris Mehring and Kyle Lobner are consistently at the forefront of our curiosities with their impeccable post-game podcasts often containing team-informed updates for the Timber Rattlers. Given the overt decrease in overall media efforts in Low-A Carolina since Greg Young Jr. departed earlier this season, we'll likely be hard-pressed to learn anything on Galindez unless we get an update from ARob. I don't recall hearing anything about Crow set-backs this year which is possibly the most important aspect of his ongoing recovery?

- INF Gregory Barrios was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays for RHP Aaron Civale

As always, we thank young Gregory for his time with the Brewers. He was a true joy to watch in 2024. May his best baseball be ahead of him!

Also career 6.3 BB/9.  The career 0.3 HR/9 will cause that FIP to come down, but walking 6.3/9 at the age of 26 probably offsets that.  And he also walked 7.6/9 at UL-M.  Lefties do tend to take longer to develop, though.

I keep checking this thread to see if Pratt has been bumped up to A+ yet.  lol

Any word on the Galindez injury? I see he is out for the season :(

Spoke with Galindez today and it seems as though he has avoided the worst case scenario.  He has undergone a ligament repair which will sideline him for the season, but he has avoided Tommy John surgery.  The hope is that he will be ready come spring training rather than midseason next year.
