Blalock gets away with an absolute off-speed hanger to end the 2nd frame with a runner on 3rd. That ball was smoked. Sparks ran it down short of the warning track. BUT, that was not a good pitch. Lucky to get out unscathed.

LHP Anfernny Reyes is giving us a bit of a DSL/ACL feel in his first inning of relief work. We see a runner swiping 2nd and 3rd. We see a wild pitch. He's given up one run. He has runners on 1st and 2nd. One down. Muddies trail 6-0 in a game quickly running away from them.

Adams was playing around with that lead left leg after he got plunked in his first AB in the 1st frame. He was shaking that leg as he walked to 1B. He's now been pulled for Tayden Hall as his replacement. Something to monitor.

Casey Martin ripped a two out double off the high LF wall. Nick Kahle ripped a two out RBI single up the middle infield. 1-0 Shuckers. Let's go, men!

Kuehner gives up a two out 103 mph double to the deep LF corner. No matter, he gets his 4th K through 2 IP to end the threat. Stud. I'm telling you: stud. He's improving outing-to-outing at rapid pace.

BT Dub. That hurricane is already a Cat 5. Winds in excess of 170 mph. Possibly building to 200 mph. Expected landfall in Coastal Southern Texas/Louisiana by Sunday. Very very scary stuff.

Yeah very scary stuff. Hopefully people have had time to take precautions and get safe.

After the Sounds left two on in their half of the first, RHP Taylor Clarke gave up a 2-0 count, two out, 100 mph deep fly over the deep left CF wall. 1-0 Redbirds.

Barrios has begun the series with a 6-for-7 performance. He lines a single to CF to begin the 3rd frame. Nothing hit terribly hard. BUT, everything hit in just the right places.

Blalock getting absolutely squeezed in the top of the 3rd frame. Two darts well within the outer black. Ump stares. Calls balls. Two strikeouts? How about a K swinging instead. Two down.

Matt Wood has been involved in both early T-Rats runs via a 10 mph corkscrew ground out to 3B and a flailing swing and miss strike 3 on a ball in the dirt but a successful double steal during the process. 2-0 T-Rats.

Sparks scorching run of late continues with a cracked deep fly to deep left CF one hops the fence on the warning track. A lead-off 3rd frame double.

Shuckers waste it. O'Rae advances Sparks to 3B on a groundout to 1B. Cargo weak shallow pop out to RF. Wilken pops out to 1B. No bueno. On to the 4th. 1-0 Shuckers.

9 straight retired by Blalock. 12-of-13 overall. He's either inducing weak pop flies or hard hit fly outs...sprinkle in a K here or there for good measure. 1-0 Shuckers still lead.

Man, this home plate ump in Biloxi is up there for worst home plate caller I've seen all season. He is entirely inconsistent in and around the zone and he delays his strike calls by 2-3 seconds every pitch. Jeeze.

Castillo just doubled home Yophery Rodriguez (also doubled to lead off the 8th frame). Walling now at 3rd. So, two on. One down. Muddies have pulled within 6-3.

Meanwhile, in Biloxi, Kahle just knocked across another run with what will likely end up a fielder's choice on a failed DP. 2-0 Shuckers.

Meanwhile, in the top of the 4th frame after consecuitve full count walks, Eduardo Garcia biffs a fairly routine bloop liner to his left at 3B. He dives. He ricochets and misses the catch. Then, as the runner slides into 3B, he botches the catch at 3B. Rough sequence by Garcia. Should have two errors if we're being honest. Who knows what the scorer decides. 2-1 T-Rats. Men on 2nd and 3rd now. Nobody out.

SHould very very much be one down. Men on 2nd and 3rd. That was a really bad sequence by Garcia.

Game is tied 2-2 now on a single to RF. Some seeing eye hits here. Fernandez, not the racehorse, couldn't get to the ball as it short-hopped him. Thankfully, he kept it in front of him. That Garcia misplay so big to this inning starting to unravel. As are, obviously, the 1-2 walks by Kuehner. Garcia now just dropped a liner direclty into his glove. The young man might want to swap out gloves. UGLY ugly stuff in the fourth frame at the Wisconsin hot corner.

Meanwhile,

Sparks just rocketed a ball over the RF wall. Smoked. That's two rockets tonight. Like I've been telling you for two weeks: red hot. The surge continues. 3-0 Shuckers. Warren had caught the final out of the Braves half of the 5th leaping at the LF wall. As I've also said, pop outs or hard hit line outs for Blalock for the most part.

Two-out ripped shot over the third base bag and down the LF line. That's a tough tough luck inning for Kuehner. Garcia pretty much gave the Sky Carp these runs. It won't be scored that way. Kuehner also walked a couple guys after favorable counts. Can't do that. BUT...4-2 T-Rats trail. That'll be all for Kuehner.

Clarke just hung a piece of off-speed meat. Dead Center. That's a two-run HR he just gave up to a 0.188 hitter. 3-2 Redbirds. I continue to be unimpressed by Clarke's output. Hangs way too many pitches.

AND, in Biloxi, we get a 9th HR deep fly over the left CF wall. 4-0 Shuckers. Woot woot.

RHP Yerlin Rodriguez on to speel Kuehner. We get a vintage Yerlin four-pitch walk. Sigh. Let's follow that with a 2-0 count wild pitch to advance both runners. My goodness, if Rodriguez could every corral his arsenal we'd have a high-leverage sure fire bet. What we have instead, at this juncture of his career, is a scratch-off lottery ticket. He's throwing 99 mph - hence, long leash. BUT, he just can not locate anything consistently. He's now walked the bases full. Can. Not. Happen.

AND, just like that: Yerlin gets the K on three pitches to end the threat on a high inside 99 mph check swing K. Man. So much talent. Never know where it's going to go. 😅

T-Rats just grabbed one back on a ground out to 1B by Tayden Hall. 4-3 game. Big run there. We have a runner on 3B and Wood back to the dish. BUT, he struck out for the second consecutive AB. Unfortunate. That's a lefty-on-lefty match-up. Wood is not seeing that ball very well.

Hicklen hit a lead-off double to start the 4th inning. Mejía drove him in with a double to the RF wall. 3-3 game. We are tied.
