Hall's defense has been lackluster in LF tonight. That's 2 doubles for the M-Braves that probably should have been held to a single.

Not to mention the muffed plays by Hernandez and Zamora.

He gets hit hard on some pitches, but weak contact on others. Hall can look great for a batter or two, but then gets hit. He is frustrating. Not sure what to do with him

Luke Adams with a grand slam. An absolute line drive laser beam that barely cleared the high wall in LF.

Wow he lasered that out.  After a great single by Areinamo.

Adams just has so much fun playing doesn't he?

Not that Henderson is being hit hard or anything, but his lack of faith in his slider is so apparent on nights like tonight where his FB isn't as sharp as normal. Feels like every AB has been a grind today because that FB isn't getting the swing and miss.

THIS. 100%. He is essentially only able to throw the change-up and the fastball just doesn't have it. I am watching the fifth frame and it's obvious (Farm chores). Not sharp. AND, zero runs but he also saw a bang-bang call go in the Shuckers favor at the plate.

Whew. Bases loaded jam and Nova strikes the man out keeps it 4-4 game in the 6th.

Bottom 6 - Reece Walling double. David Garcia with a double, 5-4 Muddies. Castillo strikes out. But Y. Garcia with a single it's not 6-4 Muddies

I was talking about Adam Hall the Shuckers LF.

Nova pretty much a trainwreck here in the top of the sixth. Yet, he can still escape unharmed. WP, HB, walk...Ugly stuff but, as I said, he can still escape with no damage.

Mehring thinks that Adams shot was at least 105. Hard to disagree. I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if that ball was 110. Just rocked. First T-Rat since Wes Clarke back in 2022 to hit two grand salamis in a single season. Good company!

Walling ripped a single, btw. That ball was hit hard but the RF'er was shodowed toward the corner. Rocked an off-speed pitch after ripping one foul of the 1B line. He is absolutely heating up, however. That's the main thing here.

With all the name drop prospects on the Mudcats, we are watching the brilliance of one Reece Walling and one C David García as the game wreckers tonight. That's right, baby.

My bad again. I thought it hopped over the wall for a ground rule 2B, but I see that now. Either way, he ripped it.

As a quick but direct aside...

THIS is the stuff Luke Adams has to clean up as he moves up the system. His over-reliance on his innate raw athleticism as opposed to good fundamentals and better defensive baseball. Here's a look for you. Hard hit grounder to 3B. He's shadowed to the 3B line. SO, he's there and gathers the ball with plenty of time to make this play. Here's the gather:

BUT, here's where he gets to by choice. AND, he does this very throw entirely too much. The vast majority of his errors come from this ridiculous motion. What the heck are we doing here Luke? Step IN to your throw with your lead power leg. THIS? This is just entirely unnecessary:

Single by Sparks, O'Rae single, then CDRod legs out a grounder to avoid the DP, and Sparks to third, hard hit single by Wilken ties it up 1-1. Nice job.

Miller gets a walk (surprise, right). Then EBJ of all people lines to RF, adn it's a 3-1 Shuckers lead.

Merkel on for Henderson to try to hold the lead. And keeps it 3-1, on to the 7th

Here is where that throw ends up. An easy six feet before the bag. The runner isn't even, what, 10 feet from the bag? It's just so abusrd. This ends with a runner reaching by entirely unnecessary error. The ball high-hopped Hall here. You see it here about to hit dirt. It is my biggest complaint on his very young and exciting game. Get rid of this. Just throw it out the window. It's one thing when it's a bang-bang play down the line. I get that entirely. BUT, it's an entirely different thing when it's happening within very fundamental baseball plays. This won't work as he moves up the affiliate levels. It will put him in a dog house.image.png

So in reading the comments I just realized you can have more than one game going on your computer. And I'm watching the different games, and I am clearly a rookie at this, nowhere near as good as @Joseph Zarr and others, so I making all kinds of errors in my reporting. Sorry 😌

Nova opens his seventh with a four pitch walk. He's been allllll over the place tonight. Two HB. Two walks. A WP. Ugly outing. BUT, he's so far gone forth undamaged.

All good, my friend! Keep posting. The more the merrier! No need for apologies.

That's now two conecutive four-pitch walks for Nova to start his seventh frame. Man, he has had an ugly outing. Let's hope he can escape in the very least. Bullpen activity beginning. Sanchez is up.

Wilken ties it with a bloop single to shallow CF. Gotta love it. Hey, we'll take anything at this juncture! 1-1 game. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Two down. Darrien Miller to the dish. Lefty-vs-Lefty match-up.

Sparks with a triple, and Shuckers extend the lead 4-1

Meanshile Fitz in trouble in Wisconsin trying to escape a base loaded jam... and pitch #80 fly ball to LF. On to the bottom of 5, still 8-0 TRats!
