I'm a thinking he's liking the shift. That's what I'm telling myself darn it. That's the first time a Sound has gotten aboard six times in a game since early July 2019 and only the fourth to do so since 2005. We all know Lara hasn't gotten it going consistently in any fashion at the dish in 2024. But, my goodness, the defense absolutely still plays. Here's a timestamped look at an unbelievable smashing grab into the wall at straight away CF. Lotttttta that kind of hanging pitch from Cornielle in these highlights. Truly a rough outing. Back to this higlight: this catch? Whewwwwwwwww.

Yes, and Baseball America just updated all of their lists and have Gill Hill ranked #6 on the Rays updated list.  So, he's absolutely a legit pitching prospect - and I'm guessing he'll see a promotion sometime soon to High A ball.  No shame in our young Mudcats getting shut down by him last night.

Yeah he very much looked like a pitcher that had nothing left to prove in the Carolina League.
