RHP Tyler Wehrle retired the first 6 batters he faced to keep Wisconsin in front 1-0, but 2 singles resulted in a run in the 8th inning, then a single and homer have put the Timber Rattlers behind 3-1 in the 9th.

It's up to Adams, Garcia and Wood to turn this around.

Why is Wehrle throwing 4 innings? Well, he's averaged 36.8 pitches/game over his last 10 outings, so 54 pitches (40 strikes) on 3 days' rest is not unusual for him. And Aaron Rund is the only other fresh arm remaining in the 'pen.

Wehrle has given up one earned run or more in 12 of 25 appearances in 2024. He has conceded two earned runs or more in three-of-four outings in August.

25-year old LHP DL Hall was solid in his MLB start a week ago (4.2 IP, 3 R (1 ER), 9 Ks), so let’s hope he carries that momentum to a win for AAA Nashville at Durham. We trail the series 4 games to 1. Can 1B Wes Clarke homer for a 3rd straight game and extend his 15-game on-base streak?

Wes Clarke really loves hitting against Tampa Bay Rays minor league affiliates. 3 HR this week against Durham and last year he just destroyed Montgomery.

AA Biloxi is our last game of the week, with 24-year old RHP Shane Smith ready for another dominant performance (5 shutout innings last week with 5 Ks). Sadly, they trail their home series against Mississippi 4 games to 1. 1B Ernesto Martinez Jr. (.751) and RF Lamar Sparks (.724) are the only starters with an OPS over .700.

Man whatever the Shuckers were doing in July - they need to find it. August has not been kind. Offense is really struggling- a description I used a lot in May with them. And pitching has been good, but not lights out.

Nice wins by the Mudcats after a short but encouraging outing by Letson.

And Nashville wins to support what looks like a very strong outing by Mr. DL Hall.

Yeager comes into the 9th with the shuckers behind by several runs, and gives up 4 more. Still only 1 out.

This game got ugly late (big 7th and 9th innings by MBraves). Currently 11-1. And bases are still loaded  ugh

And the offense remains incredibly quiet. Only 5 hits and the sole run off a EMJ HR.

Ugly outing for Yeager. Only got 1 out. 3 hits, 3 walks, 1 HBP
