The Shuckers have followed their four run hiccup in the sixth by loading the bases with two down in the top of the 7th. Goes without saying: big opportunity here. The Pandas are going to their bullpen.

And, Zavi Warren couldn't make the catch at the wall. And, Zavi Warren swing and flies out to LF on his first pitch faced. He sliced a low inside tailing heater. The Shuckers strand the bases full.

In true fashion, the M-Braves trail 5-0 in the 8th inning @ Tennessee. With the Shuckers trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the 7th it's a continued battle of the teams incapable of seizing their collective moment. Next week is shaping up to be a real doozy.

Isaac Collins is on a Cycle Watch. 3-for-3. Just ripped a single to RF to pair with his two-bagger and three-bagger. Let's get it, young man!

T-Rats are threatening in the 9th. They put two aboard. Vargas just lined a single over 2B to score the T-Rats first run. 3-1 deficit. One down. Adams to the dish with runners on the corners.

Adams bloops an infield liner that short-hops the second baseman and he mishandles the gather and it bloops into shallow RF. Run scores. Vargas advances to 3B. 3-2 game. Getting zesty. That likely should have been a game ending DP.

Murray leads off the Shuckers 8th with a double and the Shuckers have a runner in RISP yet again. O'Rae hits a weak chopper to 3B. Throw sails well over 1B and to the wall down the RF line. It's 5-2. Shuckers are trying to claw their way back into it. O'Rae on 2B. Nobody out. Miller to the dish.

TIE GAME in Cedar Rapids. A deep bloop fly single by Areinamo somehow finds the grass. Vargas scores. Runners on 1st and 2nd now. One down. 3-3 game.

Lara!

First pitch chopper finds the LF grass. Adams is sent around 3rd and he's got it by a mile and he eats grass falling on his face. Unreal. Welcome back Mr. Adams! LOL. He absolutely ate it. The winning run is tagged out by 9 feet. Cue the Benny Hill music.

And to make matters worse - a double steal attempt? And Lara breaks for second the pitcher goes but the throw then goes home and they get Areinamo by a foot or so. 3rd out. Still tied. Oh man. They had two glorious chances.

Meanwhile Wilken crushed a deep sac fly and then they strand ORae at third.

And the T-Rats end the inning with another out at home when Areinamo tries for the double steal after Lara had made it to 2B. Understandably, the T-Rats are trying to avoid Xtras. Solid throw home and the ball beats the slide.

The T-Rats don't want to play Xtra innings. They want the playoffs. They're trying to get out of this with a stolen victory and hit the showers. Close play. Better throw got him.

Yeah I was questioning if it was a double steal attempt or just a busted steal attempt.

But the Adams faceplant and the late break by Areinamo (was it truly a double steal?) and two chances to win just went the wrong way.

Shuckers down 3 in the ninth - can they ignite some 9th inning magic?

Sparks starts it off with an oppo liner single into RF. Man on first. Nobody out.

Capra lines a gapper to the left CF wall. That's a 2-run dub. 10-3 the Sounds are routing Gwinnett for the second game in a row. Three consecutive walks and then Capra added his 3rd and 4th RBI's. Tyler Black joins the fun with a next AB single up the middle into CF. That's a two RBI poke. 12-3 and the Stripers are throwing in the towel going to their back-up catcher.

Meanwhile, Sparks leaves early on a ball in the dirt thinking it was going over the catcher. It did not. It popped up and went right into his mitt. He gets caught in a pickle and the Shuckers lose 5-2. Oh sigh these Shuckers. Sigh. They maintain a 1.0 G lead. At the rate the M-Braves and Shuckers are going I would be entirely unsurprised if Pensacola snuck into this picture.

Perez absolutely misplayed a fly ball to LF to gift the Kernels a walk-off. Has to catch that ball. Just poor form. His roller coaster continues defensively. He's now botched two gathers costing runs at the plate since his return. And, here in the 10th he just takes an extremely poor route and angle and can't catch the deep fly. Just completely misread that ball thinking it was going wall. He focused toward the wall while the ball fell about 6 feet short on to the shallow warning track as he feebly dove forward with the ball ricocheting off his webbing during the poor attempt. Sigh. Has to be better there.

Smith buckles down getting a hard hit line out to Black in LF. A hard hit line out to Miller at 2B. And a K swinging on a high outside heater. 12-3 Sounds 'W'.
