Cornielle gets a much-needed jam shot bloop to Adams at 3B for the second out.

One might ask: After beaning a guy high and inside on the last pitch and after a mound consult by the infield why are you swinging on that first pitch? One might ask. Anywho, we'll definitely take it.

Rodriguez drops a 1-2 foul tip (not an easy grab). The count falls full. He misses on an inside slider. AND, the bases are juiced. A two out free pass. Have I mentioned Cornielle came out in a mighty struggle?

Cornielle goes from 1-2 to a BB to load the bases. It's scary hours here with Cornielle's pitch count pushing 30.

Cornielle gets up 1-2 on the next hitter as well. What happens this time? Heater tailing high and away arm side. It is happening a lot in this frame. He gets the K swinging. Another heater high and likely outside the zone. But he gets the swing and miss. 

Ugly ugly inning. BUT, 1-1 result is a massive 'W'.

Cornielle gets out of it but 29 pitches with 2 BB and 1 HBP does not bode well for his outlook on this game.

IF I were managing this Timber Rattlers game? Considering how absolutely lefty dominant this Lake County line-up is and how ugly that Cornielle inning was...I've got Cornielle on an uber-tight leash. I'd have LHP Mason Molina ready to start warming up at the first sign of trouble in the second frame. Then again, that's just me. And, I also wouldn't have Yophery batting fifth in a game two possible take the series scenario.

The concern is that if you blow the pen up today and lose then who is available for tomorrow? You need Cornielle to give you a couple more innings.

Wilkinson has absolutely mowed down Ramon and Garcia to open the 2nd inning. Made them look like children facing a grown man.

Understood. And, yes, it's very ideal Cornielle grounds out and comes out firing much better in the second inning. I'd have zero qualms about thinking I can get 3-4 IP out of Molina. Zero. I've seen his outings in Carolina. It's a gamble, yes. BUT, he's done nothing but pound the zone and dominate with that change-up. I'm going for tonight's 'W'.

Garcia has that innate propensity for poor chasing swing choices. Not a disciplined hitter. Wilkinson took advantage with ease.

Hall lined a single to CF with two down, however. And, he's advanced to 2B on a WP in a 2-0 count to Vargas. Now 3-0 count.

Vargas walks on four very paitent takes. Men on 1st and 2nd. Two down. Lara up for the second time.

Lara 1-1 soft liner to RF and that's the end of the T-Rats threat. Let's see what Cornielle has in his second inning.

I don't think you can just assume someone who has never pitched at the level can come in and throw 4 innings when the most they have thrown since being drafted is 3 innings.

That's nice. I'm not managing this game. AND, I'm pretty good feeling this way. Molina is an experienced pitcher. Either way, we both know what I or you think doesn't matter in terms of what will actually happen in this game 😆

Cornielle gets a lineout to RF to open the 2nd then gives up a line drive single to CF that buzzed right by his head.

The Jheremy Vargas experience in LF is not enjoyable. Just took a routine flyout in LF and made it look extremely awkward backpedaling into the catch.

A 2 out single to LF and Vargas with a really poor throw to 3B. Would have been an out with an accurate throw. Runners on the corners with 2 outs.

Cornielle is repeatedly missing high and outside. Two men on. Another full count. And misses nowhere near the zone. As I said, I've already seen enough.

And Cornielle walks the bases loaded. Some extremely bad misses. He's up to 48 pitches still with 1 out to get in the 2nd.

48 pitches. 3 walks. Only 26 strikes. Lotta misses nowhere close. 1 2/3 IP. Bullpen has to be stretching some or soft tossing.

Cornielle gets a weak chopper hit back to him for an easy out at 1B. 1-1 as we head to the 3rd.

He gets the 1-1 weakly hit high chopper to the right of the mound. You can't keep living like this. Pitch count at 50. Hopefully they can get three or four frames. Sheeesh.
