A good beat writer would have some names.    Of course we don’t have a good beat writer.   But wondering if we are showing interest in names like Momcada, Polanco, Lorenzen, maybe even Alonso or Flaherty to some degree?  I guess we will hear nothing which is fine but just makes December and January more boring than for the other clubs with writers plugged in on who their team is pursuing to whatever limited degree.

The national-level writers/reporters are always the ones delivering rumor stuff, not so much the local beat writers.  This isn't just a Milwaukee thing.

The usual tripe about us having lousy beat writers is needless & poor form.  Haudricourt could have a little edge to his personality that put people off, but he was a solid beat writer who was pretty widely respected within the profession.

Haudricourt was horrible.   Hogg is oodles of levels above him in so many ways.

Yeah, I actually like Hogg a lot.  At least a find him enjoyable and knowledgeable to listen to on the MJS pod with JR Radcliffe.

Polanco is an interesting name to me. He isn't coming off his best offensive seasons, but put up plenty of good offensive seasons with Minnesota.

I'm looking at just DRS here for his defensive numbers, but he has graded out about average defensively at 2b. Graded out very poorly at SS. Has very few innings at 3b, but maybe he could be average there?

He's a switch hitter, but hits better as a lefty. I find him slightly more interesting than Moncado. I would imagine Gleybar Torres is well out of their price range unless they some how find a way to trade away Hoskin, but that just opens up another hole to fill.
