Congrats to OF Brewer Hicklen who gets another MLB call-up opportunity with the Tigers:

The Tigers placed outfielder Manuel Margot on the 10-day injured list due to left knee inflammation and recalled fellow outfielder Brewer Hicklen from Triple-A, per a club announcement.

The Red Sox announced a series of roster moves today. Catcher Connor Wong was placed on the injured list with Blake Sabol recalled, a pair of moves that were reported last night. They also made a move on the pitching side, recalling right-hander Josh Winckowski with fellow righty Robert Stock designated for assignment.

May 1st, 2021:

The Blue Jays have acquired right-hander Paxton Schultz from the Brewers, according to a Jays team announcement.  The move completes a past move between the two clubs, as Schultz is the player to be named later in the February trade that saw Derek Fisher head from Toronto to Milwaukee.

Well, the Brewers did get eight MLB plate appearances from Fisher, whose career ended after 27 AAA games in the Twins system in 2022.

And, about Easter Sunday? Well, there's this:

These two feature articles are among my favorites of the year:

Drew Anderson, Regional Scouting Supervisor, certainly took notice, one of the only folks in the Brewers Webisphere-Twitterverse who did:

Not only was Paxton Schultz part of the Brewers' first Brisbane Bandits Australian League campaigns (just prior to the pandemic), but his one season in the Brewers' system (14th round 2019 Draft, from Utah Valley University in Orem, UT) was playing for the Rocky Mountain Vibes, and you have one more article to read, because well, long live "Toasty"!

By the way, in their one year of Brewers-affiliated existence, that 2019 Vibes team did not go on to produce a lot of big-league talent (yet). In addition to Paxton Schultz, you have the team's most prominent current MLB player, Abner Uribe, along with RHP Nash Walters, who made one appearance for the Angels in the 2022 finale (Walters now pitching in Japan).

Among those with a solid chance to see MLB action in the future are Cam Devanney, now with the Royals, OF Bryan Torres with the Cardinals at AAA, OF Carlos Rodriguez on the Braves' 40-man roster, and most excitedly Ernesto Martinez, Jr., currently with the Sounds (.802 OPS in his age 20 season).

Nestor Corredor, currently in the big-league dugout, managed the team.

It would appear RHP Taylor Clarke is getting the call back to the Bigs for the KC Royals.

Quote

In 14 1/3 innings of Triple-A work this year, he’s logged a 4.40 ERA with a rough 15.3% strikeout rate but a respectable 8% walk rate. The vast majority of his struggles in Omaha came in one particularly rough appearance, wherein the Orioles’ Triple-A squad trounced him for four runs.

Best of luck, Taylor!

Yet to debut with the Red Sox organization (he only last pitched Saturday), but just-traded RHP John Holobetz has been transferred to High-A Greenville after it was initially announced he'd remain in Low-A. Certainly makes sense.
