HOLOBETZ WATCH:

5.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 9 K, 0 ER.

Holy Holobetz. And no video 😩

I have the game from last night and tonight playing in my head. Boy the Muddies are looking good to start the season.

So I've got to hone in Hardin and Holobetz - who else have I missed Joseph? You find these guys, like last year you got me hooked on to watching Yoho and KC Hunt outings early.

OF Yhoswar Garcia looks very over-matched in High-A so far. Just really doesn't have an idea what he's doing at the dish outside the occasional attempt at a bunt. He pops out to shallow 1B with the bases juiced and two down after Kay-Lan Nicasia had worked an 0-2 count to a free pass to load em up. T-Rats fall 1-0.

RHP Zach Peek looked quite nice and in control out of the Pen tonight. Nice showing. I liked Mendoza down in Biloxi last night. Corniel looked good tonight despite the two two-out doubles to cost the T-Rats their sole and only run in the 1-0 loss. Birchard looked improved with 'stuff' tonight tho still struggles with that fine-tuned control But, all in all, he looks more in control and in better shape so far. Holobetz is one I was ready to really keep an eye on early this season. Tonight's outing loss kills me. 😅 It's still too early tho. We'll know more in a month. It's still too early. I really was jonesing to see what Torres brought in his first outing - I wasn't going to read into results I wanted to see what his stuff did. So, missing that hurts.

Remember the two lefties, too. Garcia and Bjorn Johnson. Very interesting debuts.

It's still too early though. We need the month. BUT, to your point, yeah when a guy pops he absolutely pops.

Mendoza. That’s who I was trying to remember - you called him out yesterday I think. He was minor league FA, or a minor league rule 5? And Hardin pitched for TRats yesterday I believe - I need to watch that game

Birchard was who is tonight- good stuff but not fully in command. Encouraging outing.

And no video of Holobetz and Torres - ugh

i will focus on Peek more

And I was super impressed with Bjorn Johnson.

thank you

From the Sounds post-game article tonight:

Quote

ANOTHER ONE: Nashville pitched their way to back-to-back shutouts for the first time since August 10-11, 2024, vs. Indianapolis and the 13th time overall since 2005. The Sounds had three straight shutout wins from April 16-19, 2022, with two wins at Gwinnett and one against Charlotte. Nashville's last run surrendered came in the bottom of the third inning in their 10-2 win over the Stripers on Saturday night, giving them 24.1 IP between runs allowed. Deivi Garcia and Craig Yoho combined to pitch four scoreless innings for Nashville on Wednesday night, giving the Sounds bullpen 38.0 IP between earned runs allowed dating back to the top of the seventh inning on March 30th against Jacksonville. The Sounds team ERA is now sub-2 at 1.99 after Wednesday's shutout while the bullpen sits at 1.12 through the first 10 games of the season.
