Hope Henderson enjoyed his brief taste of MLB. (just my guess that he's the one sent back down)

Yeah that’s too bad but it does give them the extra bullpen arm for the Giants series that they can use.

So if that is the transaction then Payamps goes when Myers is activated and they stay with the 5 man rotation it would appear.

I hope not! He was fantastic in his debut.

Yoho isn't on the 40 so they will have to remove someone off of the roster to make this move.

I am very curious what the corresponding move is. DFA Payamps? Send Hudson or Henderson down? If I had to guess it is Hudson going down especially with Alexander in the bullpen now as a second lefty even if he is primarily a long man.

Plus, they need a 40-man spot so maybe Ashby to the 60 day if payamps isn't getting DFA'd.

Henderson down (don't need him with Myers being back this week) and then who knows to clear the 40-man spot. My guess would be Cortes or Civale to the 60-day.

If Hudson is sent down, I'm not nuts about the idea of Alexander being the only LHP in the pen besides Koenig.

Part of me wonders if there is a deal being hammered out for Payamps involving a combo of lotto tickets, and if not then a phantom IL stint. The risk in a DFA or trade is that he's been very, very good when 'right', including last season after an early rough stretch. And being out of options.......I just don't see a DFA quite yet.

Could be wrong, but I think Henderson stays. As long as people keep performing as starters I could see a six-man when Myers returns.

Update: Henderson is the expected player to be optioned

As awesome as he was yesterday, I still think this is the right call. He needs to work on his slider and cutter without needing to be concerned so much about results. Can't do that in MLB but you can in AAA.

Yoho can be used against lefties if needed. Hudson can’t be effective against anyone if he can’t throw strikes.

Sure. If he displays the same movement & command he's shown earlier he can be effective vs anyone. I just think there are many LHH we're going to be seeing that you WANT to make face a guy who throws from the same side, and with the heavy BP usage we've seen I just don't know if Alexander is someone who can be used 2-3 times a week (not that they'd even want him in such a role).

But you're right about Hudson. He isn't commanding his stuff and he needs to, probably more than most since his FB is around 90 or so. Ashby being out really hamstrings them in that sense.

I wasn't thinking I would stay up late often for the Giant games (eastern time zone) but now I have to stay up at least until Yoho gets in.

It would have been nice for Henderson to get another start or two in but it does make the most sense. I think Civale to 60 day DL makes the most sense for the roster spot. His return would be like May 31 which if he hasn't begun a throwing regimen probably will be around when he is ready anyway.

As someone who literally shared Yoho was an MLB arm after his first outing as a High-A Timber Rattler...

As someone who wondered aloud:

"What are we doing? These High-A hitters have literally zero chance against this filth!"

I am just litttttttle bit excite. A smidge.

Cortes to the 60-day is a biiig blow. Feels like we won't see him again until at least early July, and that's if we're lucky.

I was counting on him a lot but after seeing Patrick and Priester looking good and the start from Henderson yesterday I don't mind. I do think we need 2 guys to join Freddy as good playoff options but by then Woody, Civale, and Nestor should be full steam ahead joining Myers, Ashby, and the young arms as options.

Durbin with the bomb tonight and great defense is making the trade look good (Devin has also been bad for the Yanks).
