Video: The Brewers Need To Fix The Left Side Of The Infield

The Brewers’ left side of the infield has been a clear weak spot all season. Early on, there was hope that someone like Oliver Dunn or Caleb Durbin could step up at third, but that hasn’t worked out. Shortstop hasn’t been any better, with Joey Ortiz statistically being the worst hitter in baseball. The organization has a couple of internal options in Nashville, but they come with concerns; either they haven’t played much third recently, or haven’t proven themselves. The farm system has talent, but nobody’s quite ready yet, which puts pressure on the front office to explore the trade market. Rather than going after big-name stars, the Brewers could target former top prospects or under-the-radar players who may need a change of scenery.
