The Chattanooga TV announcer sounds like he gave up years ago on finding any joy or beauty in the world and now he really wants everyone listening to him to give up too.

🤣

I pretend I'm listening to the Grandpa I never had because he got lost in Chattanooga and is now stuck in a strange time warp/loop hole whereby his existence is only in the Chattanooga Lookouts broadcast booth. He is forced to watch these Double-A baseball seasons. He can never leave.

In all seriousness, I've grown to love him. He's terrible but in the best of "I've been watching baseball for 70 years" type ways.

He butchers so many of the names because he can't see them on his program when he is also watching the game. It's classic. Like why can't they get him large print line-up cards?!

Man, this early post-injury return version of Boeve makes me sad. Can't play in the field. Striking out on the regular. Not the same weapon at the plate. It's a version of the early Ashby return from injury but not quite as depressing. 😅

Pratt fought off a really tough 1-2 high and inside (strike) heater for a one out oppo single into RF. Nice piece of defensive hitting there. Man aboard for Wilken.

Pratt steals 2B. Runner in scoring position. Wilken gets absolutely robbed on a diving belly outstretched catch by the RF'er. My goodness. Dang. Two down. Pratt forced to come back to 2B. Heck of a catch given the situation.

And that wraps up an 0-5 organizational day. Losses from MLB down to Low-A.

Good grief.

Let's end with my phrase of the day: "Hurt Me!!"

AND, another Payne K. Swinging this time. Flailing at that pitch (yet again). He is such a hot mess right now. Hard to watch. Feeling for him. BUT, you are going to be hard pressed to find consistent success with his mechanics right now. They are all over the place.

Doesn’t the team have a hitting coach or roving instructor?

Braylon Payne looks lost and totally overmatched after that hot start. Here's hoping the tools start to shine through. The stat line isn't the end all be all, but we need to start seeing some better ABs.

He's 5 months older than Misiorowski but kind of Misiorowski-esque and tonight was a night where he had good feel for command

Wow, understood.

Can't get by only scouting the stat line ......   :-)
