RHP Tyson Hardin looks for his 2nd solid start of the week (6 IP, 1 R, 6 Ks in 73 pitches on Tuesday), this time in a victory which would give AA Biloxi a 4-2 series win at Columbus. 3B Zavier Warren has a 7-game hitting streak and Ethan Murray makes his 5th start of 2025 at shortstop.

20-year old LHP Anthony Flores is also making his 2nd start this week (4.1 IP, 4 R, 4 Ks on Tuesday), with High-A Wisconsin needing a win to salvage a 3-3 home series draw against Quad Cities. SS Jadher Areinamo is hitting .397 during his 16-game hitting streak.

RHP Bryce Meccage needs to set aside his rough stretch (8.27 ERA in last 20.2 IP) to lead the Low-A Mudcats to a series-clinching win at Delmarva. SS Luis Pena is 12-for-29 with 5 extra-base hits during his 7-game hitting streak.

Biloxi had the earliest game today, with both offenses producing 2 singles and 0 runs through 4 frames, before Bladimir Restituyo popped the seal on the 9th pitch of his at-bat with 1 out in the top of the 5th. An Ethan Murray single, helpful pitching change, 3 walks and an infield single followed for a 3-0 advantage:

Some updates. Tyson Hardin had another nice start. Through 3 AA starts so far:

17 IP, 12 H, 2BB!, and 16K.  Biloxi up 3-0 with a 3 run 5th driven by a Restituyo HR, couple of singles, and a couple of walks.  Middendorf with a clean inning, yay! Then Manfredi. Now Fitzpatrick on.

Meanwhile in Wisconsin, Blake Burke! Deep to center no doubt HR. 2 runs and T-Rats back in it, down 3-2. Just wow. Crushed it. That is the power stroke that he was drafted for. More of that please.

Carolina is up 3-0 and Meccage with 3 solid innings and indy signign DeCarlo with his low A debut and gives up a single and walk on his first 3 batters so far.

Anthony Flores conceded 3 runs on 2 homers to the first 10 batters, but Blake Burke snatched 2 back in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

DeCarlo's debut goes better than his ACL debut. Gives up a hit and a walk but gets 2 K, the first swinging, the last one looking to end the inning. Still 3-0 Muddies courtesy of that Bitonti Bomb that @Ro Mueller highlighted.

Wow, some high wire act by Fitpatrick, as he gives up a 1 out single, then a walk and another single to load the bases in Columbus. Ethan Workinger up, and he has terrorized the Shuckers. Mound visit, and he strikes him out swinging on 3 pitches, then the equally dangerous Drew Compton strikes out on 4 pitches. Heckuva comeback there Fitz. He keeps the Clingstones off the board. Heading to the 9th. Shuck yeah let's go!

Pratt singles, and eventually scores on the sac fly to extend the lead, it's 4-0 Shuckers and Bowman in to hopefully close it out.  What a season so far for this club.

Carolina not much since the Bitonti blast.  Pena with 2 walks so that is encouraging.

But Bitontin, man he just can't make enough contact, very long swing and will miss a lot of pitches, a 3TO player as it seems K, HR, or BB and when he makes contact it is hard, but just enough of that contact for a guy in his second trip through low A.  There is time and he is oozing with potential, but he is really frustrating to watch. As is Anderson who seems like one step forward and one or two steps back, as @Joseph Zarr was praising his at bat the other night, since then 0-11 with 6K and 2 BB.

The baseball gods giveth (Burke 2-run HR) and they taketh - Langhorne gives up 2 runs in the 5th with 2 singles, then a WP and another single later and it's 5-2 Quad Cities.  Grrr.

Burke keeps hitting 2-2 with a walk today. Rain and wind rolling in, so we will see if this game will continue.

And Pena - walks for the 3rd time today 😳 that's a nice development to get his BB% up.

This just in -  Pena is good at stealing bases ... Blake Burke is not.

Pena to 2nd, and Bitonti end of the bat grounder to SS and no play anywhere for an infield hit and runners at the corner. Anderson to the plate

Burke caught stealing 2nd, and now 2 outs no one on. Baez up.

Up 3-1 in the top of the 7th, Carolina had 1st and 3rd (Pena walk, Bitoni infield single) with nobody out but failed to cash in (Anderson ground out, Di Turi pop out, Holguin K).

That's a dangerous recipe. Bryan Rivera conceded 1 run in the bottom half (2-out double, single), but thankfully stranded a runner at 2nd base.

Carolina 3, Delmarva 2 as they head to the 8th inning.

If Wisconsin is going to rally from down 5-2, it probably needs to start now, in the bottom of the 8th: Areinamo-Dinges-Burke-Eduardo due up.

Ohh no Dinges gets helped off the field after a leg injury.  Looked like he was grabbing at his hamstring.
