All in all, and aside from the NHL being able to do international tournaments during their ASB, MLB has the best all-star situation. Granted, a lot of that is just because there's not a lot else happening sports wise in mid-July. 

The NHL has it super great, though. Too bad that kind of thing wouldn't work for baseball.

MLB has the advantage that baseball is tough to half ass like hockey, basketball, and football. Guys certainly aren't going to go all out in the field or on the basepaths in the ASG but the core of baseball is really pitching and hitting and it's tough to half ass those two things especially so pitching.
